Fit for Life

Secondary education

Tranche d'age : Age 14 to 16

“Fit for Life” is an educational programme for students aged 14 to 16. The aim of the programme is to provide secondary school students with practical information on basic economics (e.g. personal finance, budget, salaries, etc) and to make them understand the importance of setting educational as well as career goals based on their skills, values and interests.

The programme consists of 6 didactic units which are given in class by a volunteer from the business world.

In more detail – the topics covered in this programme are personal finance (salary and budget), insurance, credit (and over-indebtedness), as well as employability and sustainable finance.

The Fit For Life course is held by a professional volunteer serving as a potential role model. Through a variety of practical activities, young people better understand the relationship between what they learn in school and how they will successfully participate in the economy of the environment in which they live in.

Volunteers receive a resource kit containing detailed plans for each activity, informative activity booklets for young people and additional teaching materials to ensure that the experience is a success for the participants, teachers and the volunteer.

The objective of this programme is for young people to have a better understanding of the economic world around them, as well as to prepare them to succeed in their studies and future professional careers.

Period: throughout the school year.
