Diplom+ 2024: A Successful Closing Event

© JEL

On Friday 12 July 2024, the Lycée Aline Mayrisch hosted the closing event of the Diplom+ 2023/2024 programme.

Diplom+, launched by the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth in 2020, is aimed at young secondary school graduates who do not yet have concrete plans for their higher education or professional career.

As a partner of the Ministry, JEL offered two modules as part of Diplom+ this year:

  • Practical Life Skills: training on finance, administrative procedures, employees’ rights, housing, contracts and the national and European electoral process (among others).
  • Practical project and work placement: an opportunity for participants to undertake a four-week work placement in a company that matches their career aspirations. Françoise Bisteur (www.innobullus.com), Jan Glas (Snakke & Co. S.à r.l.) and Pedro Castilho (www.verbalius.com) provided training to support the young people throughout the final term of Diplom+.

The event on 12 July marked the end of the ‘practical project and work placement’ module and the conclusion of the Diplom+ programme. 24 participants presented their projects, sharing their thoughts and conclusions drawn from the various modules and their work placements. A panel of four experts assessed the presentations according to criteria such as content, communication skills, commitment, dynamism and critical analysis.

The jury was composed of:

  • Astrid Schuh | CNFPC
  • Valérie Clément | Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg
  • Jules Ternes | Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg Alumni
  • Matheo Reinert | Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg Alumni
