In a world where young people are searching for meaning, innovation, and impact, few see the packaging industry as part of that future. PackX: Unpack Your Career aims to inspire, connect, and empower the next generation of innovators to see packaging not as waste, but as a place of opportunity — a field where creativity, passion for circularity and ambition for European competitiveness meet entrepreneurship.

Concept & Approach
The PackX interactive workshop is a core element of the “Unpack Your Career” initiative, designed to spark curiosity, challenge perceptions, and actively involve university or vocational school students in shaping the future of the packaging industry.
Young people today are searching for careers that offer meaning, innovation, and real impact. The packaging sector, often overlooked or misperceived, but in fact it is a dynamic field where sustainability, technology, design, and entrepreneurship converge. This workshop aims to reveal these opportunities through direct dialogue and hands-on collaboration with industry professionals.
This interactive event ensures that young people feel heard, valued, and motivated to see packaging as a place for innovation and societal impact—directly supporting EUROPEN’s goal of connecting industry transformation with European youth aspirations.

- Collaborate with EUROPEN members to showcase real career stories and industry innovation.
- Showcase how young entrepreneurs have built real companies with focus on packaging through JA programmes - alumni of EUROPEN Single Market Expansion Award.

The primary target audience for this event will be students from universities, and vocational training programmes in Benelux countries.
- Young Europeans aged 18–25, especially students in technical schools, universities, or vocational programs related to material science, chemistry, design, creative communications, engineering or technology.

Workshop Format:
- 30–40 students from Benelux universities, travelling to Brussels. Travel costs covered by JA Europe (no overnight stay).
- Half a day face-to-face, immersive workshop with physical icebreakers, group work, and direct dialogue with industry professionals.
