For it’s 23rd Innovation Camp, 55 students took up on the « Business Challenge » set by Banque Raiffeisen !
What will the bank of the future look like?
On 3 May, 55 students aged 16 to 19 from 16 different high schools visited the Raiffeisen headquarters in Leudelange to find out about the Bank’s “Business Challenge”.
"Present your innovative concept of the Raiffeisen Bank of the future.
Based on its experience and as a Luxembourg cooperative bank, Raiffeisen supports associations, schools and initiatives that accompany pupils and students in their secondary and higher education.
The pupils, divided into mixed teams, had to think of solutions to respond to the “Business Challenge” that they discovered the same day. For this edition, Raiffeisen asked the students to think about the following question:
“Present us your innovative concept of the Raiffeisen Bank of the future.”
Experts to guide young people throughout the day
Several Raiffeisen coaches were present to guide the young people in their project and share their knowledge and experience with them.
At the end of the day, the 11 teams each presented their project to the general public and tried to convince the members of the jury:
► Georges Heinrich – Member of the Executive Committee, Banque Raiffeisen
► Laurent Derkum – Head of Human Resources and Communication, Banque Raiffeisen
► Laurent Zahles – Member of the Executive Committee, Banque Raiffeisen
► Romain Poulles – Managing Director, PROgroup S.A. and Member of the Beirat, Banque Raiffeisen
► Simone Polfer – Advisor, Ministry of Economy and Member of the Beirat, Banque Raiffeisen
Innovative concepts, ideas and solutions
For this 23rd edition, the public and the members of the jury were won over by the creativity and the solutions proposed by the young people. Selecting the 3 best teams was not easy for the jury, which finally chose the following winning teams:
The first prize was awarded to the RAIF FOR FUTURE team, composed of Sam Elsey (Lycée Aline Mayrisch), Marie Necsa (Lycée Aline Mayrisch), Dionysios Psychogyios (École internationale Differdange et Esch-sur-Alzette), Maximilien Becker (Lënster Lycée International School) and Martin Scaillet (Lycée Robert-Schuman). These young people decided to digitalise the back & middle office by re-evaluating the need for all positions, including increasing the website team, in order to improve the digital experience of customers. The winning team also proposed to create a mobile investment app and add mobile payment.
The second prize went to the EASY BANKERS team, composed of Annelynn Moutinho (Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion), Deimante Jakubauskaite (European School of Luxembourg I), Eugen Stepan (Lënster Lycée International School) and Louis Wagner (Lycée Aline Mayrisch). The team suggested to add the “Budgetmanager” functionality to the banking app. This would provide an individual operation adapted to the savings and investment of each client. The benefits for Raiffeisen Bank would be the assurance of solvent customers, who would thus have a better overview of their finances.
The third prize was awarded to the R HOMES team, consisting of Noah Gounou Temo (Lënster Lycée International School), Sara Nilles (Lycée Robert-Schuman), Elisa Nepper (Lycée Aline Mayrisch) and Joel Correia (Lycée Technique d’Ettelbruck). This team worked on helping students find accommodation. Their idea? The Raiffeisen Bank would buy properties that they would then rent to students at a lower price. The offer is only valid for Raiffeisen Bank members, and students would have the possibility to extend this housing partnership for another 5 years after graduation, until they enter working life.
Finally, strongly impressed by their superb presentation and their idea of an inclusive app, the jury also decided to give their “Coup de coeur” to the RAIFFINCLUSIVE team, composed of Yna Ratemo (Athénée de Luxembourg), Ruby Little (Athénée de Luxembourg), Clara Kauffmann (Lycée Aline Mayrisch), Mihai Cebotari (Lënster Lycée International School) and Daniel Coelho Cilio (Lycée Technique d’Ettelbruck).
