Job Shadow Day Closing Ceremony and Inspiring Panel Discussion
Immersion into the professional world
The 17th edition of the Job Shadow Day (JSD) programme took place from March 23 to 27, 2026, and concluded on Thursday, April 16 with a closing event featuring a panel discussion focused on career guidance and career choices, with various testimonials.
Organised in partnership with FEDIL – The Voice of Luxembourg’s Industry, the Chamber of Trades, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, Job Shadow Day gives students the opportunity each year to immerse themselves in the daily lives of business leaders and team managers.
This year, 158 students from 23 secondary schools had the opportunity to accompany business leaders from 75 companies during a full day of observation. More than just a visit, JSD offers young people a real insight into the professional world by allowing them to follow a leader in the course of their daily responsibilities.
Panel discussion : “Choosing Your Path: Real Talk from Professionals”
The panel discussion held on April 16, titled “Choosing Your Path: Real Talk from Professionals”, brought together several professionals who shared their early career experiences and offered valuable advice to young people transitioning into working life.
Moderated by Myriam Baustert from Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg, the discussion featured Charel Theisen (Strategy & Consulting – Tech Advisory at Accenture), Clément Wampach (Managing Director at TK Elevator Luxembourg), Tahra Narr (Programme Coordinator at Jonk Entrepreneuren Luxembourg), and Christian Happ (Director at Yolande a.s.b.l., Elisabeth Handicap).
The panel provided insightful exchanges and inspiring advice. Charel Theisen described the early stages of a career as an intense learning phase, highlighting the importance of continuous development and team support. Christian Happ emphasized the importance of finding meaning in one’s work and noted that doubt is a natural part of any career path. Clément Wampach stressed the importance of attitude, underlining his ability to turn challenges into opportunities, with the mantra: “When you have the passion, things go right.” Finally, Tahra Narr offered a more recent perspective, explaining that mistakes and fluctuations in motivation are a normal part of any professional journey.
This panel discussion provided students with sincere insights into career choices, doubts, and challenges, along with practical advice to help them build their professional future.
